Did you know that you should ideally be changing your moisturisers with the seasons?

The weather changes and so does your skin. We’ve all done it as we are shopping, picking up creams and lotions that promise a change to our skin, I hate to put a damper on things but a large majority of these products don’t have enough active ingredients in them to do much, they might make your skin feel soft but they don’t make an actual physical change to your skin like our medical grade Medik8 products do.

For example many of you think the factor in your foundation is enough to protect your skin from the sun’s rays or free radical damage is enough, for this to be effective you would need to apply a heaped teaspoon full every four hours.

This is why I personally use the Medik8 Glow oil. It feels silky but also dry to touch and also contains that all important Vitamin C. I have found that this oil absorbs fast into my skin and restores radiance and hydration.. This product is great for slowing down the appearance of those fine lines and wrinkles that are definitely NOT welcome, as well as providing antioxidant protection.

I have only been using the Medik8 Glow Oil daily for a short period of time but I have already seen such a positive different to my skin, I actually have that healthy glow!!! 😍😍😍

So why should we change our skin products with the seasons?

This is so that we can compensate for the changes in the air and keep our complexions in check. A lighter moisturiser during the warmer months, and a thicker, more soothing formula during colder months.

The formula and contents of the skincare products that you use are based on your skin type. Those with thicker, dry skin would benefit from a thicker moisturiser to prevent your skin flaking.

With skincare it really isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ scenario. You need to determine what you skin can and cant handle during which months and what you are trying to achieve. This is where changing your moisturisers with the seasons comes into action.

Many products that you purchase in the shops may leave your skin feeling smooth for a short period of time, however, are there really any long-term benefits if they don’t have the right ingredients in them to have an impact on your skin. Your skin also needs protecting. It is important to speak to a skin specialist to recommend the ingredients that are going to help you make the best skincare choices.
